BIOGRAPHY

Piers Fetters has served as the Director of Generational & Outreach ministries at the Chicago Temple since August of 2018.  He grew up in Macau, China where his parents served as missionaries for 12 years with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ.  He earned a B.A. in Biblical and Religious Studies, from Huntington University in Huntington Indiana.  After college he returned overseas where he served as a youth Intern for one year at Zion United Brethren Church, Hong Kong.  Piers then attended Wheaton College where he earned his M.A. in Historical Theology.  Following his education, he moved to Adrian, Michigan where he taught Middle School & High School Bible and served as Middle School chaplain at Lenawee Christian School.  During this time he also met his wife Hannah and they have been married since 2017.  Responding to God’s call, Piers took a year off from ministry as he looked for a church that would be a better fit for his progressive and justice oriented theology.  God opened a door, and Piers has been serving at the Chicago Temple ever since.  Working to grow the family ministries and our justice team, as well as working to find new ways our church can reach out through technology.
